My IBS was so bad that I could hardly leave the house

My symptoms started at the the early age of only 16 (24 years ago). I was extremely fit and healthy apart from my gut that just wouldn't play along. It started with alternating constipation and diarrhea and severe bloating and cramping. Doctors gave me everything from painkillers to fibers and special diets cutting out wheat, gluten, dairy and just about everything else but nothing really worked. 

This carried on into my twenties and it became a severely stressful condition for me. The alternating constipation and diarrhea became more like unpredictable diarrhea and if I left the house I would need to know where any toilet within a 5 minute reach was. 

Again doctors did tests and gave reccomendations but all they could find was inflammation in the gut. I was busy studying herbalism and my boyfriend at the time was also a herbalist so we were trying all kinds of combinations with fibers, probiotocs, supplements and herbs but still my condition persisted. 

I even had 2 severely embarrasing situations, one where someone's toilet flooded all over their house after I desperately needed to use it and another where I had to go in the veld almost in sight of a whole group of people.
